Like Summarize, this is one of the two tools on this site that genuinely isn't fully private, and we say so upfront: your PDF's text is extracted locally in your browser, but that extracted text is then sent to Google's Gemini API to produce the translation, since no on-device model today handles this range of languages well. Only the extracted text is sent — never the original file — and there's a clear notice before you run it.
You can download the translation as a plain text file, or check the option to also generate a simple PDF version of it. That PDF is rendered through the browser's own text layout engine rather than a fixed built-in font, specifically so that non-Latin scripts — Hindi, Arabic, Bengali, Russian, Urdu, Japanese, Mandarin — render correctly instead of coming out as missing characters, which is a real limitation of the basic fonts a lot of lightweight PDF tools rely on.
The same 50-page/100,000-character cap as Summarize applies here, for the same reason: translation quality and cost both hold up better on reasonably-sized documents than on very long ones. For a scanned PDF with no real text layer, run it through the OCR tool first — there's nothing to translate without extractable text underneath.
